If You Have a Mortgage, Lien, or Unpaid Property Debt
That may still be okay. HomeInherit reviews it first. In many cases, part of your funds can be used to pay off existing property debt at closing, so the home becomes safer and simpler going forward.
If There Is More Than One Homeowner
That is okay. If the home is owned by a couple, siblings, or multiple people, everyone on title must understand the program, agree, and sign.
Family Involvement
Your children do not always need to approve, but HomeInherit strongly encourages involving your family, attorney, advisor, or anyone you trust so everyone understands the decision clearly.
